These flourless brownies are so fudgy and rich, they’re better than the real thing! There’s only 5 ingredients, so this is a perfect recipe for a beginner baker or someone who is short on prep time. This recipe is based on a typical flourless brownie recipe, but we substituted dark chocolate instead of semisweet and used less sugar. In half the batch, we added peanut butter chips and for the other half we stuck to the plain dark chocolate. (FYI- At our picnic, the peanut butter ones went first!)

For one large batch you’ll need:

1 cup butter

2 cups dark chocolate morsels or chips

3/4 cup sugar

6 eggs

1/2 unsweetened cocoa powder

1/2 cup peanut butter chips (optional)

First, preheat the oven to 350 degrees.

Next, melt the butter and most of the dark chocolate morsels in a large bowl - be sure to keep a few chocolate chips aside for the topping! Microwave for 2 and a half minutes, stirring periodically throughout. Remove bowl from the microwave and stir mixutre until liquid is smooth.

Next, stir in sugar and cocoa powder gently. Finally, add eggs one at a time, mixing completely before adding the next egg. When all ingredients are integrated, you’re ready to pour!

Make sure your brownie pan is prepped with pam or oil or parchment paper for easy removal. This is a large recipe so you probably want a rectangle pan approx 13” by 9”. Pour in batter and smooth with a spatula for an even surface and consistent thickness. Finally, sprinkle remaining chocolate chips and peanut butter chips (if you so desire) over the top.

Bake for about 30 minutes or until toothpick comes out clean! Let brownies rest for at least 10-15 minutes before slicing to desired size. These are super fudgy brownies, so be minful that they’re very squishy while hot! Handle with care.

Enjoy this decadent treat with almond milk or another chilled beverage for optimal yumminess!
